Official roster and souvenir: seventh national encampment, Denver, Colo. 1910 Aug. 29-31.

The booklet contains, among other things, histories of General Henry W. Lawton Camp No. 1 of Denver, Major Clayton Parkhill [Women's] Auxiliary No. 1, and three other Colorado units of the Spanish War Veterans, and numerous historical photoreproductions. The latter half of the booklet consists of advertisements of Denver businesses. This large booklet lists the officers of the national organization of the United Spanish War Veterans and the committee members for its seventh national encampment in Denver, Colorado, 29-31 August 1910. The souvenir booklet also contains photoreproductions of national and state political figures (President Taft, Colorado Governor Shafroth), the daily program, and a roster of United Spanish American War Veterans.

John Franklin Shafroth (1887-1967) was born in Denver, Colorado on March 31, 1887, son of the late Senator John F. Shafroth and Mrs. Virginia Morrison Shafroth. He attended Central High School in Washington, D.C. and East Denver High School before his appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy in 1904. He graduated in June 1908 and served the two years at sea then required by law before he was commissioned Ensign on June 6, 1910.
